Sunny Beach provides obvious opportunities not only for sunbathing and swimming, but also for a full range of water sports and other activities. Sailing, windsurfing and water skiing are all well catered for, along with horse riding, cycling and tennis, amongst many other activities. Professional tuition is available. Children can enjoy playground facilities and organised activities and competitions.
Action Aquapark in the western part of Sunny Beach is a major attraction for the young or the young at heart. A total of thirteen water attractions, ranging from extreme to milder children's entertainment, provide a challenge to all age ranges. Lifeguards and qualified physicians are on hand to guarantee safety. If the adrenaline is all too much, you can relax in one of the cocktail bars and restaurants located throughout the park.
The ancient town of Nessebar – a UNESCO World Heritage site – is less than half a mile away from the Sunny Beach resort and features a charming collection of buildings dating from the Middle Ages. The Stara Mitropolia Basilica, otherwise known as the Church of St. Sophia or the Old Bishopric, was originally constructed in the 5th century and is the best preserved of the many churches in Nessebar. The strip of sand between Nessebar and the neighbouring village of Ravda is considered to be one of the finest beaches on the Black Sea coast.
Slightly further to the north but still only three miles from the Sunny Beach resort lies the developing coastal village of Sveti Vlas or St. Vlas. The wide sandy beaches and opportunities for water sports are the most obvious attractions of this area but there are many others. The village features restaurants and cafes, many with panoramic views. Its unique location, at the foot of the Stara Planina mountain range makes it the ideal location for a quiet, relaxing beach holiday.
In Sunny Beach resort itself numerous restaurants, cafes and bars provide a wide range of international dishes as well as traditional, local cuisine. Fish and other seafood is a speciality, naturally enough, but more mundane English or exotic oriental cuisine is also readily available. Many eating establishments also provide music, dancing and live floor shows.
Nightlife too is vibrant and varied. There are many nightclubs, discotheques, late night bars and casinos but you may also find live entertainment of some form in the local cafes and taverns.
Rental Accommodation in Sunny Beach
Holiday rental accommodation is available in Sunny Beach in a variety of different shapes and sizes for short or long term rental. You may, for example, choose a spacious modern apartment with a veranda or balcony overlooking the sea. Other possibilities include a slightly larger bungalow, perhaps sleeping four or more people, or a villa sleeping anything up to ten. Rental accommodation is usually fully furnished to a good standard and is air conditioned.
